A Court of Thorns and Roses ft Banana bread

Everyone was talking about A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, so I decided to finally give it a go. I went in with the expectation of being completely hooked, but honestly, it didn’t quite grab me the way I thought it would. I found myself able to put it down at times without feeling that constant pull.

At first, Feyre as a character frustrated me. She felt a bit flat and lacking complexity, but as the story unfolded, I started to understand her more. She’s stubborn, determined, and flawed in a way that eventually became relatable. The romance was definitely there - and while I know everyone talks about Tamlin, I have to admit I found myself enjoying Lucien’s character a bit more. His personality and dynamic with Feyre added something refreshing to the story.

The faerie courts and the world Maas created were intriguing, though some parts felt drawn out. Still, I found myself enjoying the atmosphere and the slow realization that there was more happening beneath the surface. By the end, I could see why this series has such a loyal following-it may not have completely hooked me, but it was a satisfying read once I got into it.

Now, let’s talk treats. I paired this book with banana bread - something I originally wasn’t a fan of, but once I gave it a proper chance, I realized how wrong I was. Depending on how it’s made, banana bread can be absolutely delicious. Much like A Court of Thorns and Roses, it surprised me.
